There are some bands that command the attention of incoming listeners from the very second that they make contact with them. Texas juggernauts Post Profit are such a band.
While they did not reinvent the wheel, they have found a unique way to spin it. Citing influences such as British duo Royal Blood and Highly Suspect, Post Profit are pulling from some of the best work that modern rock has to offer.
However, whether it’s the soulful vocals, the muscular yet precise drum work or the feverish bass and guitar tones, Post Profit also tends to recall other timeless alt-rock vets Incubus and the Deftones. But there is a certain level of personal honesty that is present that gives them their own flavor.
The result can be heard on the 2022 LP When You Think It’s Right It’s Always Wrong that is a powerful piece of work.
The high-energy track “Smother!” has generated a lot of attention but there are other moments on the record that completely push their creative boundaries.
The vulnerability displayed on “It’s Always Wrong” is damn near heroic as many men feel this way yet so few care to express it let alone do so in such a public forum.
The verbal content is set to a chilling sonic backdrop which captures the undertow of emotions that are on display.
If Post Profit is wiling to go there this early in their career…we are in for a fucking serious ride.
Guitarist Nick Hawner, vocalist/guitarist Matt Jackson, bassist Jordan Conley and drummer Zach Hicks caught the attention of noted producer Machine (Fall Out Boy, Clutch, Hed Pe) thanks to a high energy live show that rivals any veteran act on the road.
The output of those sessions is on the way in a 2023 EP that is on our most anticipated releases list for the second half of 2023.
This fall the new tunes will send them on a tour with scene favorites NOTHING MORE, Dead Poet Society, and Hyro The Hero.
In the meantime, they are picking up headlining shows as they continue to build up momentum towards the release of the EP and the tour.
Brick by precious brick, Post Profit are doing things the correct way and now is the time to get board.
